Reflection

The drug cartel is a global issue because its illegal and it could be going to a place near you. The drug transportation doesn't stay in just Colombia, it goes all over the world. And if you don't like this you can help make it stop, even the small things you can do can help with a lot. If you are willing to help you have to have a plan that makes sense and that can solve a problem that is happening, all issues happening needs a reasonable plan that has the potential of helping. On a global outlook I think the world hasn't gotten any better for protecting the worlds natural resources, and if we want to balance it out we would have to work on how we treat the planet. If we start using only what we need rather than taking what we want and trashing the rest, it would save a lot. I think the ones looking for a solution should start with you. We complain about how bad the world is getting yet we do nothing to help. Just the little things you do can help with the world and its many problems.

Challenges and Who is Involved Detrimentally

 

There are many people around involved with Colombia's drug cartel, but there are only a few that really care and take action. Groups like Black Eagles, Bloque Meta, Los Rastrojos, Los Urabernos, and Oficia de Envigado are examples of ones that are determined to find a way to block off the illegal drug trafficking out of Colombia. One of the challenges these groups are facing is locating; because of the power and money made from the drugs it is hard to find the drug transporters. Another problem faced is finding the drugs; most of the traffickers hide the drugs so the police won't be able to find them. Also confronting the drug transporters is difficult because of the weapons they may posses; most, if not all the cartels have very powerful guns and bombs.

 

Challenges, a Plan and You

   I chose to write about Colombia`s drug cartel because I believe that this is a big problem: the ones transporting the drugs have found terrifying ways to fight off the police, some even have cannons! Not to mention that it includes drugs that are illegal and bad for you. I would like to spread the word on these dangers and put a stop to this scary plan. You may think that it won`t affect us since we are far from the South American equator, but some of the drugs that are coming from Colombia are being found here in Canada.However there are people and groups such as BACRIM that are tyring to prevent drug trafficking and other criminal behaviour. And there are many others targeting the drug cartel issue.

   If you would also like to help you can, you can get involved by listning; you can read more into what these groups do and if you hear or see anythng that might be connected to a drug cartel, contact them and let them know. Just by doing something small you could help with a lot.

 

 

Mission Statment

My mission for this blog is to point out to the readers is that there is dangers involving drugs and other problems happening all around the world, you might think earth is a happy place but in reality there are plenty of people all over that needs help and there is more then enough bad people living around us. Just by reading about the problems weather it is about child labour or drug occurrences you can help by knowing what is going on and that there is people and groups that are reaching out to help all of our under the radar troubles. Learning about these scary happenings you can help out with changing the world around you.

     A global citizen is someone who wants and excepts being part of a world community, whose actions can help structure our community’s values, and able to share responsibilities.Today the people of global engagement are helping  people find themselves as "global citizens" where they have a feeling of fitting in to a community.  

     We are in need for citizens who can act as a leader to contain a world community. Global citizens can take many forms like supporting qualites, participating in  decision making, encourgingchanges in behavior, Helping out with presurving our world, and organizing events that celebrate the worlds music, art, culture and spiritual traditions.

      Most of us feel a connection to others around the world facing challenges but, we don`t take action to support the people in need. The people we are longing for would pull back the blanket that keeps us from seeing the world as a whole, they would surch for more sustainable ways to connect us with those who need our help.

      Since 1970 Colombia has been home to the most aggressive drug trafficking groups in the world. Drug trafficing started as a small cocaine smuggling business grew into an huge cocaine territory.The drug traffickers today have enough money to build fancy transporting equipment, like a submarine.

 After the damage of the Cali and Medellin cartels, the cocaine business began to spread out. Younger generations figured that the large groups were more open for attacks by US and Colombian law enforcements, so they smalle groups and began sharing their responsibilities. One group would smuggles the drugs from Colombia to Mexico. Another group would control the lab work. And another groups would deal with the transportation of coca from the fields to the labs. The problem has been very distructive for Colombia, which both sides were in an on going civil war.

"The DEA and the Colombian National police believe there are more than 300 active drug smuggling organizations in Colombia today. Cocaine is shipped to every industrialized nation in the world and profits remain incredibly high".
